So I thought it would be fun to put together a post of some of the trends I'm predicting are going to be in this season for fall! Below are some of my choices!

peep toe shoes
I'm all for peep toe shoes! I actually own the 2nd pair and a couple of others! They're such a good transition from summer to fall and go with every outfit!!

1                                                        2                                                  3

one shoulder
We've seen off the shoulder tops every where and while I think they're here to stay, I also think one shoulder tops are going to start making an appearance.

1                                            2                                                 3
light scarves / neckerchief
Last year was big on blanket scarves, but I think we have a new style of scarves that will be big. I heard it was suppose to be a hotter winter this year (hopefully not, fingers crossed!), but lighter scarves have started to show up and I think they're here to stay!!

1                                                2                                       3
cropped sweater
I love cropped sweaters because they're not only comfy but look so cute and effortless!

1 on sale!                                                   2                                       Drew Barrymore
mustard/gold color
let me ketch u (u)p on the color for fall! haha I'm sorry,  I couldn't pass up the opportunity haha but I think we're going to see a lot more of this color as fall approaches

1                                        Kendall Jenner                                       2
(faux) leather
wether it's leather jackets, skirt, or jeans I think leather is making a comeback

1                         2

What fall trends do you think will be the biggest of this season?

Sorry I haven't posted in a minute;I've been so busy lately with school starting...but I mentioned in this post the Lord has taught me a lot about idolizing . These past 2 semesters I've been struggling with what my purpose is (career wise) and the more I pray for guidance in any certain direction, the more He shows He doesn't value the securities I was searching for in a job. My biggest concern when deciding my major was  being financially set. For a while, I planed on majoring in science because of the paycheck.  While I kept trying to convince myself it wasn't wrong to prioritize, the Lord has constantly showed me it isn't a priority and I've been idolizing it. But over and over again the Lord tells us He doesn't value money like we do. Instead, he wants total devotion to HIS desires for our life no matter what the paycheck is (or isn't).
-
"for where your treasures are, there your hearts will be also"
- Matthew 6:21
what you spend your money on shows what you treasure.  Our hearts shouldn't be focused on "treasures" of this earth, but treasures already set aside for us in heaven. We should worship and glorify the Lord through our giving which HE has given us!

// application //
before you spend ANY of your paycheck, tithe!
God calls us to be obedient through giving back a small portion of our paycheck. When we continually give, it sets our focus on eternity and allows us to serve and make sure our hearts are right.

go beyond the "10% rule"
find a charity, local organization, or someone who needs it to give to each time you get your paycheck!! This doesn't have to be anything big, but this allows us to give our money in ways we care about and can see work in our daily lives (especially if you give to someone you know for their mission trip, mission, etc). This also steers our hearts to have compassion for those around us and those in need.

examine yourself
I have to do this to make sure I'm still not idolizing money and that my heart is aligned with His will to be obedient through tithing. I think it's good to examine ourselves daily. It's easy to get caught up in earthly possessions and values, but we need to make sure our one priority is the Lord. "Don't always assume you're on good soil" - Francis Chan.

So instead of loving  money we should fear what it does to us. When we focus on earthly possessions, we put our security, comfort, and satisfaction in us and things around us. Instead let's focus on eternity and serving Him, not money.

This summer has had some cute trends I've really liked!! A lot of them actually overlap and I love that!!! Below, I've listed some of my favorites.

lace up sandals
If there's a pair of shoes that are lace up there's a 110% chance I'm going to buy them!! I'm obsessed with any shoes that lace ups! And let me just say I think I've fallen in love with the Suede Leather Heeled Sandals below...I'm about to order them!

Swizzle Lace Up                   Suede Lace Up Heels     Suede Leather Heeled Sandals

denim
denim, denim, denim. I've always had a love for denim so I was excited to see more of it this season, especially denim with embroidery! I posted about a denim outfit a couple of weeks ago here!!

                                              Chambray Dress              Tie Top Dress
tropical + cactus print
What says summer time better than palm tree leaves and cactuses? I have the romper in the middle and I absolutely love it! It fits so well and looks even better on than on the hanger.

Beachgoer Romper        Romper     Denim Jacket
off the shoulder
By far the biggest trend of the summer, off the shoulder shirts, rompers, and dresses are everywhere and I'm not complaining! I think everyone can pull these off and they look so good!

Gauze Off the Shoulder          Striped Off the Shoulder  Athena Shift Dress

statement sleeves
While it might be tricky to find a good statement sleeve top, when you do, it looks so chic. I haven't seen a lot of statement sleeves like the ones in the last picture, but I have to say hat's my favorite style of them!!

Crochet Top                        Pom Pom Top                      Cropped Bell Sleeve
gigham + stripes
These prints really took off this summer and are often paired with statement sleeves, are off the shoulder, or have both trends paired with it!

Statement Sleeve      Dress          Ruffle Sleeve

What trends have you been loving this summer??

My bible study's study for the past couple of weeks have been on looking at one verse, for a specific topic, each day. I don't often break down a single verse by itself, so at first I found it difficult; I struggled with going beyond surface level and getting deeper material out of it. I told one of my friends about this and she shared this method with me (s/o Anna Grace!!!) and I've found it so helpful!! It's called SPECK and I've outlined it below

S; sins to avoid
P; promises He's given
E; examples to follow (what character trait do you want to exhibit)
C; commands to obey
K; knowledge you learned about God's character

Sometime I skip C because it can become repetitive of S, but if in the verse it specifically says a command to obey then I make sure to make a note of it!! Here's an example of it with Ezekiel 36:25!

"I will sprinkle clean water on you and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws "

This will look different to everyone, you can go as deep as you want, but my perspective on this verse with SPECK is
S; impurities and idols we put in front of our relationship with the Lord
P; His Spirit within us and a new heart obedient to His decrees
E; desire holy things and prioritize these
C; keep His laws
K; His Spirit within me is all I need to rely on, nothing I can do or say on my own!!

The Lord has shown me so much through following this outline and the topics we've talked about. He's revealed so much to me and one of the bigger things is what I've been idolizing lately over Him (another blog post on that is coming soon!). But I've shared this with a couple of my friends and they've also really liked it, so I hope it helps you too!!

peep toe booties

This was my first time shooting an outfit and it was so much fun!! I love this off the shoulder top and the embroidered flower pattern across it. It's so light and easy to move around in, it's definitely perfect for summer! I found it in-store at Marshall's, but couldn't find it online. This Kate Spade was also my first "big girl" purse purchase and I'm still obsessed with it!! I love anything two toned, and this crossbody is no exception. I wasn't able to find it, but this one is the same size and it's a really nice pink!! I might have to get this one too lol. But while we're on the topic of Kate Spade (one of my favorites!) this new arrival is soooooo cute! I love the detailing *insert heart eyes*.

It's safe to say this summer is the summer of one pieces! I've seen them everywhere and I have no complaints, I'm so glad they're making a come back. Some of my favorite trends for this summer (scallops, lace up front, palm tree print  and off the shoulder) have transitioned to swim suits and I'm all in! I do have to say my fav is definitely the multi-colored stitching against black. It's just so fun and stands all by itself! ...But the palm tree is a close second runner. I love the lilac color with the black criss-cross lace up; I haven't seen that color that much this summer but I love it!

What are y'all's fav one piece for this summer?

Summer is here and y'all know what that means...SUMMER CAMPS! Honestly, what's better than a week worshipping God, learning more about Him and leaning into community (groups)?! This past week, I went to Passion City Church's Summer Camp and wow did God show up and show out! I learned so much this week about God, the works He prepares and completes, and the vision He's spoken over my life.

This was the first time I was on the other side of a conference so rather than attending, I had the opportunity to serve and love on 3000+ students and leaders as a doorholder. So while many physical doors were held, many others doors were opened (spiritual, emotional, etc) so others could experience God. We greeted others, served meals, and met so many people excited to learn more about God!! So much detail and thought went into EVERYTHING we did!!! I never really thought about how much dedication and hard work goes into hosting an event on that scale; it's actually unbelievable. Every step is planned and every path prepared; both with so much attention to detail. And while it was many early mornings and late nights it was definitely worth it for students to be able to come face to face with the One who created them!

One thing that Louie Giglo said that has really stuck with me is "Jesus isn't a way, but THE way".  I think so often we look to Him to get us to a destination (that we've created) or looking for a certain outcome (that we want) when we should be focusing on being obedient and faithful to HIS plans.
//

And let me tell you that worship was incredible!! The energy in the room was undeniable and His presence was SO evident. It was so much fun and so freeing!  Even in a room of 3,000 people, it only felt like me and the Lord in those moments. One of my favorite songs they sang was Tremble by Mosaic MSC // Jesus, you make the darkness tremble. Jesus, you silence fear. Your name is a light that shadows can't deny. Your name can NOT be overcome. Your name is alive, forever lifted high.

This week was so fun and one that changed my perspective on so many things. I hope y'all get to be apart of a camp this summer!!

one // urban decay heat palette // $54
I love the Naked Palettes so I was so excited to see they were coming out with a new one! The eyeshadows colors are such a good range of shades and all the colors are ones I would use regularly.

two // drop earrings // $55
I love anything Kendra Scott and these earrings are no exceptions. They're dainty and the perfect size - not too big or small!

three // wedges // $59.95
These wedges look just like the designer ones, but are half the price! And you know it's good quality when it's made by Steven Madden. A good price and good quality?! How could you resist? I also love this color because it's not one that's done often but matches anything.

four // pom pom off the shoulder // $55
I'm obsessed with this top!! It has two of my favorite new trends - pom poms and off the shoulder! It's perfect for the summer!

five // tassel necklace // $22
This necklace is so fun! The bright pinks and blues match with so much. You can dress it down with a relaxed v neck or dress it up with a patterned maxi.

six // embroidered floral shorts // $19.90
Another trend I'm loving for the summer is the embroidered flowers trend! I just love it, especially on denim. Throw these on with a white shirt and you've got a cute outfit!

seven // summer daze tote bag // $49
I'm always looking for a cute beach bag and this one is so cute! I love the watermelon stitching on the side
What are y'all eyeing this summer?? Let me know in the comments below!

Welcome to gold and grace!
⇒ ⇒ ⇒
I'm so excited to start blogging! First off, let me introduce myself, I'm Christina, and there's two main things I'm passionate about; fashion (where "gold" comes into play) and faith (where "grace" comes into play). I've created this blog to show my style and share my faith. God has taught me soooo much this past year and one of the bigger lessons is that your passions are correlated with your purpose. He gives you specific desires for a reason and wants you to use each one to glorify Him!! While struggling with what I want to major in and do as a career, I figured I would dive deeper into my passions (specifically style) to see if it's really what I want to pursue educationally and beyond. So I hope you enjoy this blog as I try to figure out His purpose and plan for my life and I pray this blog encourages you and, hopefully, you get something out of it that you can apply to your life!

here's some fun facts about me!

favorite (current) Bible verse // Psalm 25:5
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior
and my hope is in You all day long

current favorite shoes // these jack rogers!

favorite makeup product // highlighter, this one is really good!

Thank you so, so much for reading!!
